2014 Stirling Lecture

The 2014 Stirling Lecture will be held on Thursday 4th December at 17:30, in the Applebey Lecture Theatre (W103).
The lecture entitled “Life on the Edge: the coming of age of quantum biology” will be given by Jim Al-Khalili, Professor of Theoretical Physics and Chair in the Public Engagement in Science at the University of Surrey.
Professor Al-Khalili, OBE, is an Iraqi-born British theoretical physicist, author and broadcaster. He has hosted several BBC productions about science and is a frequent commentator about science in other British media. In 2014 Professor Al-Khalili was named as a RISE leader by the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences.

The Stirling Lecture is an annual public lecture organised by IPPP in honour of its first director, Professor James Stirling CBE, FRS, now Provost of Imperial College London. The lecture series was created in 2008.
