Description:

An 'Experienced Researcher' position for 2 years in particle astrophysics/cosmology (starting 1 Oct 2008) is available at Oxford University, funded by the EU Research Training Network 'UniverseNet' (http://www.physics.ox.ac.uk/universenet). An allowance of 400 Euros/month for research-related travel is provided in addition to a EU-specified salary.

The relevant interests of the Oxford theorists (http://www-thphys.physics.ox.ac.uk/user/Particle/) are in the physics of baryo/leptogenesis, dark matter, inflation, string cosmology and ultrahigh energy cosmic rays/neutrinos. The chosen candidate will undertake research in one of these areas.

Applicants must have at least 4 years but no more than 10 years of research experience (since obtaining the degree which qualified them to pursue doctoral studies) at the time of appointment. They must not have resided or studied in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years before the start of the appointment (short stays such as holidays are exempt). British nationals are eligible if they can provide evidence that they have resided legally and had their main activity in a third country for at least four of the five years prior to their appointment.
