Description:
Ideas from aperiodic or “quasicrystalline” mathematics have seen a resurgence in contemporary high-energy, condensed matter, and mathematical physics, including quasicrystalline topological phases; quasicrystalline orbifolds and compactifications; discrete holography and quantum error-correcting codes; and hyperbolic lattice models. This workshop will be dedicated to exploring and connecting these directions.
The conference is being held Monday July 20th, 2026 to Friday July 24th, 2026 at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Coffee, tea, and lunches will also be provided for all participants during the conference. A registration fee of £150 will be used to help support coffee, tea, and lunches, but can be waived upon request for early career researchers. If you are interested in attending, updated details and the registration portal can be found at Quasicrystals in Fundamental Physics.
Event supported by the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences, The Higgs Centre, and Glasgow Mathematical Journal Trust.
