QCD
Asymptotic freedom
- The effect of hadrons as bound states of
quarks (and gluons?)
- Asymptotic freedom: The "what" and the "why"
- How to measure &alphas
There is a plethora of various measurements of the strong coupling constant. However, below
there is a list of some methods to measure it:
-
Heavy quarkonium wave functions,
-
&tau,-decays,
-
jet cross section in deep-inelastic scattering and in electron-postron annihilation,
-
event shapes in electron-positron annihilation.
The first two methods have been scetched in previous sections, the latter two rely on
an analysis of the radiation pattern of QCD, which will be discussed in the following.
