|Title:||Lecturer / Assistant Professor Position in Particle Physics|
A fixed-term academic position on LHCb is advertised at the University of Manchester. The position has the rank of lecturer in the UK system (assistant professor in the US system).
The post is supported by a grant Chris Parkes has received to compensate for work that he is not able to do while LHCb spokesperson.
The post is initially available for two years, and will hopefully be extended for a further year. The post holder is welcome to bring their own programme. They may work either on data analysis (not limited to an area that Chris Parkes or his Manchester colleagues are active in) and/or the LHCb Upgrade I/II detector (The silicon vertex locator and CMOS mighty tracker preferred) and contribute to departmental teaching. This is likely to suit someone who is looking to make the transition to a permanent academic position and is not suitable for a first postdoc.
Enquiries are to Chris Parkes and Rob Appleby (director of teaching), with an application closing date of the 26th October. Interviews will be during November.
