Description:

You will join the neutrino group in the Particle Physics Research Centre (PPRC), working primarily on the DUNE experiment. You will be expected to take on a leading role in the development of the DUNE Near Detector Data Acquisition System and contribute to data analysis activities within the group. Together with our close-knit team you will also be expected to work with and support our PhD students, and contribute to the broader activities of the group and School.

You will have completed or be about to complete a PhD in particle physics and have a strong track record in experimental particle physics. You should be proficient in programming in C++ and Python.

The Centre consists of 9 academics, 9 PDRAs, 16 PhD students, and is supported by a strong research engineering and technical team of 4 people. Our neutrino group interests include neutrino interactions, neutrino oscillations, and astrophysical neutrinos. In addition to DUNE, we are involved in the NOvA, MINERvA, and ANITA/PUEO experiments.

The post is based at the Mile-End Campus in London. It is a full time (35 hours), fixed term (24 months) with an expected start date soonest after 1st November 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £35,775 - £42,021 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance.
