Description:

The 12th International Position Sensitive Detector conference is now being hosted from 12th to 17th September 2021 at the University of Birmingham (with conference web pages at http://www.psd12.co.uk/). Registration is open for both in-person and virtual participation, with the deadline for abstract submission on 31st May.

In normal times these conferences are held every 3 years (see https://indico.cern.ch/category/9007/ for previous conferences) in the UK, 18 months out of phase with the sister conference, the Vienna Conference on Instrumentation (see for example: https://indico.cern.ch/event/716539/). Due to current circumstances PSD12 has been delayed to this year and will be offered in a “hybrid mode" (both in-person and virtual) with enhanced participation enabled for those only able to join remotely due to restrictions. Many more details can be found at the main conference web pages.

The conference series aims to bring together leaders in the field of instrumentation across a wide range of disciplines with younger members of this community and key industrial partners. All oral sessions are plenary and organised by topic with keynote speakers and submitted contributions in each area. There is also a two day programme of industrial exhibitions followed by a two and a two day poster contributions programme organised in parallel with special facilities for online participation for those unable to travel to Birmingham.
