Arrival Information

Lancaster University is approx. 3 miles (5km) south of the city of Lancaster. Delegates arriving by train are advised to take a taxi to the University. An alternative is to take a bus from the Bus Station in town (Bus Number X2 is best). They should then proceed to the Conference Centre reception desk (Location 14 on the campus map) where they can collect the keys to their room. A campus map and directions to their accommodation will be provided. Keys may be collected after 2pm on Monday 21st March.

The en-suite rooms are in the John Creed Building (Location 29 on the map). Standard accommodation is in Pendle College (Location 38). A postgraduate student will be at the reception desk to welcome and advise delegates for part of the evening, and a member of the Conference Centre staff will be there until 23.00. Delegates arriving after 23.00 should go to Security at the Reception Building (Location 42).

For those arriving by car, parking permits will be provided at the reception desk. These are for 'Outer Zone' parking, which means anywhere on the perimeter road of the campus. These permits should be clearly displayed in your car.

A dinner will be provided at 19.30 in Langdale's restaurant (Location 16) (also known by its old name of Cartmel restaurant) for those of you arriving early enough on the 21st March.

IMPORTANT: Please let us know if you intend to have dinner here on the first night (e-mail j.mcdonald@lancaster.ac.uk).
