Travel directions:

By air

Book a flight to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).  The airport is about 10km from Royal Holloway.  Either take a taxi (approx. 15 min.) or take the free inter-terminal service of Heathrow Connect to Terminal 5 (every 15 min.) and from there the bus line 71 to bus stop "Royal Holloway College" (approx. 30 min., £3).  If you plan to take a taxi, we recommend to make a reservation (online or by phone) with Gemini Cars or another local taxi company (ride approx. £20). In case you arrive at London Gatwick Airport (LGW) take the train to Clapham Junction and then change trains to Egham. The travel time to Egham is about 1 hour 20 minutes. A single ticket is approx. £15. Timetable information for Gatwick Airport (GTW) to Egham (EGH) connections is available at Once in Egham follow instructions below.

By train

The closest train station is Egham, which is on the train line from London Waterloo to Reading operated by South West Trains. The journey time from Waterloo as well as Reading is approx. 40 minutes.  After arriving at Egham station either take a taxi to Royal Holloway or walk (approx. 20 min., see local map) if you don't have luggage.

By road

Royal Holloway campus is on the A30 about 1km south-west of Egham town centre (see local map). It is about 3km from junction 13 of the M25 London Orbital (see regional map). After leaving the motorway take the A30 west, signposted to Bagshot and Camberley (this is the Egham by-pass). At the end of the Egham by-pass, continue on the A30 up Egham Hill (a petrol station is on your left); the campus is on the left at the top of the hill. The main entrance is immediately on the left after the second footbridge.  If you plan to come by car, please let us know, so we can request a visitor parking permit for you in advance.
